Mindful Ramblings
A Poem
Published on March 10, 2004 By Unfairman In Misc
This is a freestyle, unedited, flow of conciousness poem that I'm writing right now.

One Man Army

I am a one man army
And I am invincible.
This is what I tell myself.

I'm going to take this world by storm.
Nothing is going to hold me down.
Though many will try to stop me
they will fail because I am a one man army.

Sometimes I lose sight of this fact.
With financial woes and
Fears that I won't find the right person for me and
What fucking clothes I'm going to wear to work today and
How much sugar am I supposed to put in my Kool-Aid and
My car needs a new muffler and
I just spilled grape jelly on my new shirt and
They don't have the book I want at the library and
My fingers are peeling what should I do? and
My hair is falling out and I'm only 23 and
People are slandering my political stance and
The carpet in the living room has been there since 1972 and my mom can't replace it because she keeps having to laon me money and
and
and

I am a One Man Army.
I can't let the mundane details of life bring me down
Because I am invincible.
This is what we should tell ourselves in the morning.

Listen to "One Man Army" by Our Lady Peace. It's a fabulous song.

haha..yeah...that's actually what made me think of this poem

In The Onion regarding the Haiti conflict one woman from the "what do you think" section remarked that "since Haiti is a small country, perhaps we could send that Army of One I keep hearing so much about."

Anyway, I too spilled.....orange juice all over myself this morning, but then remembered that I had lunch duty today (see my current post) and need to wear dirty clothes anyway as I would likely be enduring the syrup covered hands of many students.

Orange Carpet Blues.

Nice title to a song/poem that mom could write, eh? Orange Carpet Blues... I like it. And I know I created it, and my saying that I like it is perhaps.. pompus? Or in the very least.. hmm, how could I put this, oh.. "DUHHHH!".

I enjoy your blog/journal/articles/(newest catch phrase for online diaries), and I enjoyed this poem, enough to make a comment on the otherwise uncommented (by me) entries thus far. I am sure that will change, since several of your entries have sparked a thought that may sometime combust into an incineration of frenzied commentary, but for now I have to get ready to drive to the Annie girl's house. Oh fun.
