Mindful Ramblings
Was it all it was hyped to be?

Good times, people, good times.

I did not accomplish the goal of getting completely ripped on Irish Night, but as many of us surely know some goals are better not acheived, and you may even have some fun in the meantime.

So, yes, I drove 4 hours down to "the cities" (Minneapolis/St. Paul metro area) to hang out with friends and intake some alcohol. We started at the Dubliner, where I met up with SuspeckTed (margin2margin.joeuser.com) and some of his friends. The place was extremely packed despite the addition of a beer/music tent (which was just as packed) in the back. It took only a few minutes to find Ted, and he presented me with my first drink of the night, a nice shot of fire. I mean Jameson. It went down well. Ted introduced me to some of his friends, and I chatted up a couple of girls. Good times.

After being in the bar for only a few minutes, we decided to head out to the tent. I was burdened by my coat and my camera (carried the thing around all night, only took one picture, I'd post it if I knew how) so jostling through the crowd was not the easiest thing in the world, but I managed. We ended up standing right next to the speaker on the stage, so there was little talking and much Irish Dancing. Again, good times.

After a while, between moving in between the tent and bar a few times, Ted offered to carry my jacket because of how burdened I looked. I let him take it, and he automatically responded with "What am I, your fucking Sherpa?," with a huge grin on is grille. That's Ted, he'll do a nice thing for you and then give you hard time for it, God love him. I've been known to say "If I could be two people in the world, I'd be Eddie Vedder or Ted Duepner."

After the Dubliner, Ted went on his way to go to sleep and Liz (who I stayed with) and I met up with some of her very attractive female friends at "The All - American Club" or something like that. I wasn't sure it was legal to go to a place with the words "All-American" in it on St. Paddy's, but I was in no position to argue. It was a nice place, and there was a very noticeable butch lesbian presence.

After that, we went back to Liz's apt and went to sleep. In all, it was a good night, and I feel good times were had by all.

Anyway, glad to hear you had a good time, I hope you're able to grace me with your presence before you're shipped off to your peace keeping impregnating duties....man, you should start stretching for that ish right now.

Alas, I did not dye my hair red. I wasn't too festive, I know.
