Mindful Ramblings
Please stop showing people vomiting during your commercial breaks.

Here's what I hate:

I was sitting down watching Comedy Central, trying to enjoy The Daily Show (this topic is not up for discussion, I do enjoy it) when I was completely grossed out during the commercial breaks. They showed numerous times ( I don't recall how many) people (or puppets) vomiting all over the place or sneezing huge gobs of snot across the room. I mean, seriously? Is this what passes for comedy these days? I don't watch either of the shows that were being advertised because of their gross out humor. Should we really have to be subjected to these visions of blatant bad taste? Sure, if you think it's funny, watch the damn show, but don't torture us normal viewers for trying to watch an intelligent show.

Yeah no kidding. I am a big fan of "Crank Yankers," but I usually turn off the television for a few minutes as soon as that puking guy comes on.

It is worse now because they put that stupid character on the promos for the show. I wonder what sort of test group they ran that past.

I haven't seen the commercial of which you speak, but I can guess what it's like. I really hate commercials like that. Sadly, that's one of the problems with watching Comedy Central late at night. It seems to have all the really crappy ads then.

It must make money for them. Which, of course, eats just a little bit more at my skimpy faith in humanity...

Thanks guys. I'm glad there's some other people out there who don't think throwing up is funny. I, personally, hate doing it.

allow me please to represent the other side of this argument. it's not that i like watching people or puppets throwing up, but i do think that crank yankers is sometimes funny. And MAD TV is hilarious most of the time. It's sick, it's demented, it's disgusting, and you're gonna love it. ok, so YOU'RE not gonna love it, but a lot of us think it's funny.

The reason i can see the humor is because i take it for what it is, instead of subjecting it to my value system. it's not mainstream, it's not normal, it's not fit for network viewing... but that doesn't mean it's not funny...

Good point, imajinit, but I'm not exactly mainstream or normal...not sure what that has to do with anything, but...umm...nevermind.

Throwing up is still gross.
Peace.
