There she is again, sitting. Always sitting. I've seen her sitting in a thousand places; half real and half in my dreams. She sits in libraries, in meadows, in post-apocolyptic Russia under the unforgiving Asian sun. She sits in doorways, hallways, parkways and skyways. She sits in all kinds of weather in all kinds of seasons. She has sat forever, and will forever sit in the within the columns of my mind. Today it is October. Her name, I think, is May. May Roddenberry. That's not her ...

I have been coerced into taking a part in the local Community Education play. I like acting. I don't like acting like a moron. My aunt runs the Community Education program in our small town, and she NEEDED another male performer or the show would not go on. The play is called "Laffing Room Only", which is extremely stupid, but the play isn't as bad as the ones they've done in the past. Mostly they do overly melodramatic comedies, which are mostly poorly acted. No one is required to adopt...

I went to work today, like I usually do when I'm scheduled to be there. And, as usual, it was a usual day. The thing about working and living in a small town is that people you don't recollect ever seeing in your entire life know who you are. I was bagging a woman's groceries, and she said to me "Your mom was just at my house. She said that if I say you that I should tell you hi." I had NO idea who this woman was. My mom is a pre-kindergarten teacher...she teaches Early Childhood Fam...

So my friend Seth calls me up at about 10:00 tonight and says "We're going out to Haley's pit. There's gonna be a bonfire out there." I figure, what the hell, I'm not doing anything. Just deciphering "The Da Vinci Code". I'll take a ride out there. So I did. Who's Haley, you may be wondering, and what is his pit? An old ramshackel house? A ditch filled with vipers? No, my friends, Haley's pit is a small gravel pit (it has to come from somewhere) where we used to go and drink beers wh...

Today at work we lifted and stacked 50 lbs bags of deer feed. Nothing to tough for a guy of my size and youth, well, it wouldn't have been if I'd had some decent help. The two guys I worked with, stacked, would have weighed maybe what I do. That may be an exaggeration, but one guy, Rex, is about 5'4" and can't weigh more than 120 lbs. Jesse on the other hand probably weighs in at a relatively beefy 140, but he's about 5'8", so the extra heft doesn't really do him a lot of good. I clock in at a...

So I got a check in the mail today. For thirteen dollars and eighy-six cents. I can now half fill my gas tank. It's from the Compact Disc Minimum Advertised Price Anti-trust Litigation. Thinking back, VERY HARD, I remember signing up for this class action lawsuit probably back in High School...I graduated five years ago. This is our court system in action, folks. If I recall, it was something about music stores overcharging for CD's...they got sued by 47 states, and I think the real winner...

I'm looking forward to this St. Paddy's Day. I'm not Irish, nor am I normally much of a drinker, but I plan to get totally ripped Wednesday night. I'm going to see a few friends I haven't seen in too long, and plan to weasel at least one beer each out of em. Add that to the ones I'll be buying myself, and I'll be in the clear (or fuzzy, depending on how you look at it)! Naturally, I'll have to buy some beers for other people, because that's the way karma flows. I was going to leave toni...

As I mentioned in my previous article, I've been eagerly awaiting the time when I can afford the new Ninja Gaiden game for my Xbox. I don't play video games to much, I prefer to read, but sometimes I see one that I just HAVE to have. It's not natural, I think. Anyway, I have fond memories of the Ninja Gaiden series from my youth. Throwing ninja stars at bad guys and killing them and stuff...I'd waste hours playing That Game for the good old NES. Those were the days, eh, kids? 6 buttons...up...

I lost my W-2 from the video store that fired me. I know, negligence on my part. Consider me chastised. Anyway, I called ShDianne today and asked her if she could copy my W-2 and I'd be in later to pick it up. She said it was no problem, she'd have it ready in half an hour, and I figured it wouldn't be. Unfortunately, I was wrong. I went in an hour later, figuring I"d be in and out. Instead, when I got there she was jibbering away to some person about God knows what, and I had to wait...

So, yesterday I asked my good friend (let's call her "ShMel") if she would like to be my date to my brothers wedding on June 5th. She accepted. It's cool, too, cause my departure date is June 8th, and I'll get to party with my friends before I go! Anyway, hours after ShMel agreed to accompany, she IMed me and told me that she had possibly broken her ankle. She was going to pick up our friend ShBrian from a party when she slipped on some ice and heard a crack. I told her it was probably the ...

It happens every Spring, here in the north. The air warms, the sun starts to shine, the snow melts and squirrels come out to chatter to you about how the past few months have been for them. Smiles appear on even the most dour of faces, and lawns that haven't been seen in 4 months stop by, like an old friend for a chat. And then BAM! Temperatures drop again, the sky goes gray and unloads 6 inches of snow on the heathen ground. The clouds roar their laughter as their frozen piss blankets the ...

I took a spur of the moment trip to Duluth yesterday. My friend TJ was like "Hey, I'm off till Thursday" and I was like "Yeah, me too" and he was like "Well, let's go to Duluth" and I was like "Yeah, okay." Duluth is where I went to college, and it's where most of my friends still live. It's about an hour and half drive from where I live now, so it's close enough where I can go visit my friends, which is cool. Anyway, I was under the impression that we'd be crashing down there somewhere,...

My mom went shopping the other day, and she decided to buy me some new work shirts. My work shirts have to be white, button down, collared shirts that would work with ties. She came home with more shirts than I really need, including one Tommy Hilfiger shirt that she bought "on sale". The "sale" price was 30.00, marked down from 50.00, and the tag said XL. Any two of the other shirts she bought probably cost that much. Most were XXL, and I can swim in them. Let's clear something up:...

I just rewrote this poem, from the skeleton of one I wrote in High School. I liked the message, but my writing skills were pretty shoddy back then, and it didn't flow for shit, so I rewrote it. I thought it was kind of fitting, considering out current situation. It's called Battle Cry Battle Cry I sit in shock up on the hill We've won the battle, yet I feel no thrill As my newfound brother lay before me, silent... Never to speak again. I am a man...I cannot cry. I've answered Our ...

Hey guys! I need a little help here. I'm always on the lookout for good new (to me, anyway) music. I'll define 'good', in my tastes. I love Dispatch, Pearl Jam, Norah Jones, Storyhill. I'm really into the acoustic groove. "College music", I guess some people call it. Anyway, even though I don't really have money to spend, I'd love to hear some suggestions of bands you guys like. I'd prefer not to hear names of really mainstream bands, because I already know about them, and that woul...
